From the very first song, All Around The Kitchen, you can tell this CD is going to be contagious fun. Anne Meeker Miller's kitchen is apparently full of various animals and sounds and dancing of all kinds. Clearly it is a place you want to be.

The animals get bigger with a Grizzly Bear in the house. A blue-eyed bear that growls and hides under chairs. Anne introduces Swingin' On A Star to a new generation with our good friend Jim Cosgrove (Mr. Stinky Feet). The Konza Swamp Band joins the fun with a couple bluegrass tunes, The Crawdad Song and Old Bell Cow.

Kids love to hear other kids singing. This CD has some great songs for yours to join in with: Tingalayo (Run Me Little Donkey Run), Down On Grandpa's Farm, Oh A-Hunting We Will Go and The Animal Fair.

The Mockingbird (Hush Little Baby) is another familiar song presented here with a new and amazing arrangement AND a duet with Jeff Martin (Jeff has a voice like none other). The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Wimoweh) is ALWAYS a favorite. We predict you will not be able to stop yourself from singing along. Go ahead! You have our permission. Wee dee DEE dee dee...

The last song, The Sailing Ship, is designed to take your little one off to dreamland. If you listen carefully, you can hear the the buoys ringing and the masts creaking while the ship sets sail. How does this tie into our animal theme? Well, the captain happens to be a duck. You and your little one will love it!

Reviews:

Drawing on animal-themed traditional music from the American south and Appalachias, Anne Meeker Miller and company adapt the songs to modern, very musical and intellegent arrangements playing "for" children instead of "at" them. The approach to the music is respectful and genuinely fun. Miller's selections, ripe for participation, are augmented by gratifying instrumentation and pleasant professional singing. source
